Situated high on the coast of Loch Alsh, in the crofting community of Avernish, The Field House was designed not just as a comfortable place to come back to at the end of a day in the Highlands, but also as a home to escape to where staying in feels as good as going out.

Located close to Skye, Torridon and the Five Sisters of Kintail, it's not hard to get outdoors. Hill walking, sea kayaking, mountain biking, paddle boarding, wild swimming and climbing, are all right on the doorstep.

On the days you don’t fancy venturing beyond the doorstep, watch the world on the loch go by as you drift from sofa to kitchen for snacks and back again.

The house is an energy-efficient, timber eco-build that's kept warm in winter, cool in summer by a combination of air-source heating and a fresh-air heat recovery system. Want to be cosier? Light the log burner and toast your toes.

The wrap-around open plan living space has endless views across the Loch and allows for easy socialising when cooking, eating or relaxing in front of the fire. There are two bedrooms, each with a double bed, making it ideal for two friends, a couple that likes more space or two couples that share a love of the outdoors.

After a day in the hills or on the water dump your kit in the utility, where there's all the space you'll need for damp clothing and muddy boots. No need to queue to clean yourself up, each of the two double bedrooms has its own bathroom with large walk-in shower.

We ride bikes, paddleboard, swim in the sea and walk up big hills for fun. We also hang out, read books and are extremely good at cloud-watching. Coming to the the Highlands for as long as we can remember, we designed The Field House for the way we live. It is a beautiful location, we hope that you will love it too.
