We have just stayed for 2 weeks at the Field House. It is in a beautiful position, down a quiet road with views over the loch. It has a real Scandinavian feel, with weathering wood exteriors and a simple and stylish interior. The 3 picture windows are huge and make the most of the views, framing the sun drenched landscape to feeling warm and cosy with the wood burner on the stormy weekend. It is a great location for Munro bagging, with Glen Shiel, Kintail, Loch Quoich and Glen Carron within easy range - we did 10 during our stay, including 2 glorious days, one climbing The Saddle, from which you could see for about 100 km - just stunning.
The bathrooms are well appointed, the kitchen is well equipped and the dining area seats 6 comfortably. 2 comfortable settees allow for comfortable after dinner relaxation. There are books, games and a full set of OS maps.
Kyle has everything you need in terms of supplies, and only about 15 minutes away. So whilst you feel remote, you can get things easily, and there are some lovely small communities - Plockton particularly - to visit locally.
We would definitely recommend The Field House - note the house sign is on the right hand side of the drive, so the first time you drive along the road, if you pass Avernish Lodge, you have gone too far - The Field House is just before it.

We spent a wonderful week at The Field House and are already planning a return visit. Russell's thoughtfulness and attention to detail was a big part of the draw. He sent us a beautiful magazine with all the information about the house and beyond before our stay and when we arrived, the house was immaculate. We had some concerns about travel during the pandemic but were quickly reassured that the house had been cleaned to the highest standards and that measures were in place to safeguard the housekeeping team and the guests. The design and layout of the house was very functional without compromising on the aesthetics. They have an eye for beauty! It was brand new, done to high specs with luxurious fittings and finishings. The living areas were incredibly comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed and more for us to cook and bake up a storm. We were lucky with the weather and made the most of the walks and sights in the region, following Russell's recommendations and insider tips. For the days we wanted to take it easy at home, there was a well curated collection of books and games. The view was so beautiful it was hard to leave the house some days because why walk for hours for something we were lucky to have on our doorstep? We've stayed in many holiday rentals and nothing comes close to the luxury and comfort of The Field House. We left very spoilt by this stay.

I have just returned from a week's stay at The Field House and it was amazing. The cottage is located down a quiet road with lovely views towards the loch and the mountains beyond. The cottage is beautifully presented with all the mod cons you would expect. The large windows in the living area afford fabulous views of the surroundings and also give a light and airy feel when inside the cottage. The kitchen is great and it's the most well-equipped kitchen of a holiday rental that I have come across. There is a small library of both fiction and non-fiction books which is great for a rainy day by the fire. There are also games and yoga mats which was a nice touch. All in all I had a lovely relaxing time and I will most definitely return.
